I have completed 2 out of 3 years of training in Somatic Experiencing (SE). SE is a gentle and potent psychobiological approach to the prevention and resolution of trauma and stress-related conditions. This approach is not talk therapy and does not require the re-telling or re-living of traumatic events. Instead, it works through the body to gently engage, complete and resolve the body's instinctual fight, flight and freeze responses. Clients who do this work often report a reduction in pain along with a greater sense of balance and resilience.
In 2016 I completed a 100 hour complementary training to Somatic Experiencing called BASE (Bodywork and Somatic Education). It is a therapeutic approach to helping people overcome the effect of traumatic dysregulation at the structural/tissue level using hands-on interventions and movement or somatic education interventions.
I accept referrals from psychotherapists and other healthcare practitioners.
